Tao is our sole PMU artist. She has trained under the tutelage of many PMU masters both domestic and internationally, receiving certificates proving her mastery of each technique. She has over 28 certificates and is on the constant lookout for advancing techniques. Tao remains at the forefront of the PMU industry and her talent, knowledge, and dedication is palpable!

  • What is Permanent Makeup?

Permanent makeup, also known as cosmetic tattooing or micro-pigmentation, is a treatment in which pigment is applied to the skin to mimic the appearance of makeup. With permanent makeup, you can roll out of bed every morning ready to start your day! PMU techniques and services vary depending on the PMU artist’s skills and your personal preferences. Internationally, there has been a shift in the industry towards natural-looking permanent makeup and the look of soft, light makeup. To achieve these desired looks, PMU artists have had to develop highly advanced and technical skills.   • What is Pixel Dust Ombre Powder Brows?

Ombre Powder Brows is a eyebrow tattoo procedure that utilizes pixelated dots achieve a soft, powdery look. Typically, the tails of the eyebrow are darker and gradually lighter at the beginning of the brow. This is ideal for those pursuing the look up makeup.

  • What is Nano Hair-Stroke Brows ?

Nano Hair-Stroke Brows is an eyebrow tattoo procedure that fills in sparse or incomplete eyebrows. This technique calls for super fine tattoo strokes that imitate the look of hair and can be used to change the shape and fullness of your brows. This is ideal for those pursuing a natural look.

  • What is Tao Signature Brows?

The Tao Signature Brows is a technique that combines Ombre Powder Brows and Nano Hair-Stroke Eyebrows. The result is the look of soft, powdery makeup over the natural appearance of full eyebrows. This technique is the result of Tao’s multitude of studies and training programs throughout the years. Calling it the Tao Signature is only appropriate!

  • Do you require a follow-up appointment?

Yes. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled for 4-6 weeks after your initial procedure. All services include a follow-up appointment, so there is no additional charge. For those traveling from out-of-state, we’ll do our best to accommodate your travel schedule.

  • Does it hurt?

Pain will be dependent on the person and the type of service. Lip procedures are typically more painful. Overall, the majority of our customers do not experience much pain and have provided comments such as, “that’s it?” or “I thought it would be more painful!”. Some even fall asleep during the procedure! Again, it is dependent on the person, but Tao’s technique is very gentle compared to the industry standard :).

  • Is it safe?

Yes! Permanent makeup is safe and similar to the process of applying a tattoo, but is much lighter and does not penetrate as deeply as traditional body tattoos. Lighter will also mean less damage to the skin. Additionally, we take proper measures to insure a sanitary environment for all customers. All needles are disposed and everything is covered for each service.

  • How long does it last?

While retention largely depends on the unique characteristics of each persons skin, our services typically last for a few years but will fade over time. Periodic touchups are recommended to maintain your desired look.

  • Will I need a touchup?

Yes! The frequency of touchups depends on how well your skin retains the tattoo as well as your individual preference.

  • How long does it take to heal?

For all procedures, the healing process takes between 5-10 days.

  • How often do I need a touch up?

Generally, it's recommended to get an eyebrow tattoo touch-up about every year.

  • What is the process for eyebrows?

The semi-permanent makeup process involves implanting pigment into the skin to give the appearance of fuller, more defined eyebrows. The process typically involves numbing the area prior to the procedure and then using a handheld electric device to implant pigment into the skin. The color of the pigment can be customized to match the natural color of the eyebrows, or it can be a darker shade that looks more like a traditional eyebrow pencil. A final touch up may be required after the initial procedure to ensure the desired look is achieved. The eyebrow procedure can take anywhere from 2-3 hours per session. The results of eyebrow tattoos can last anywhere from 1-3 years, depending on factors such as lifestyle habits and skin type.

  • Do I need to avoid anything after the procedure?

Here is a list of things to avoid and best practices. You will be provided with aftercare instructions to bring home after the procedure.

  • How do you choose my color?

The color is generally based on a combination of your eyebrow hair color and skin tone.

  • Do you have to shave off my own eyebrows?

Absolutely not! You’ll keep your natural eyebrow hairs.

  • Why Touch-Ups Are Necessary for Semi-Permanent Eyebrows?

Facial skin is constantly exposed to elements that cause color fading, like sun, products, skin renewal, etc. Touch-ups keep brows looking fresh

  • How long does it take?

The procedure usually takes about 2-3 hours.

  • Do i need to take a day off work?

No need to take a day off. Any redness or swelling will subside quickly.

  • How do I extend the life of the procedure?

Protect your brows from the sun and avoid harsh facial treatments in the brows area.

  • What if I don’t like it?

Nano Hair-strokes or Ombre shading tattoos are considered semi-permanent, the procedure offers some flexibility for color or shape adjustments. Before starting, we’ll thoroughly explain the process and map out your brows for your approval. We want you to be 100% satisfied with the shape before proceeding. Plus, a second session is included for adjustments. If you're unsure about the procedure, consider more temporary options.
